Chris, I think the link for usernamecheck.com is no longer in service. When I clicked, I got a GoDaddy parked page with lots of ads. Just thought you'd like the "heads up." Other than that, great post.

Robyn: My twitter name is now ChrisBrown330.

Matt: You've got a point, but 330 is both my area code and my birthday. But like most things marketing, if you have to explain it, it's not the best! I keep thinking about your comment.

Melanie: I think branding yourself by your product or company is fine if that is what you're going to be posting about all the time.

Hi Chris, I know how you feel. I had been using just, Robyn, to comment. One day someone else did that, too. So I decided to extend it to Robyn Mc. Well that didn't work because this person's last name was a Mc with a different ending. So now I use my full name and stick with the same icon so that people know me.

At any rate, given the whole world out there, it's a little humbling to think so many others might share our name. :-)

By the way, I'd love to connect with you on twitter. Would you please share your twitter address?

Not to be a wet blanket, but I'm not sure changing to ChrisBrown330 is such a great idea. It reminds me of aol and hotmail addresses like sherry106 and mike1052. It just seems like you wanted to be ChrisBrown and 329 people beat you to it.

Thanks for this post, Chris. I always wonder if it is better to brand yourself as an author or your company's name when promoting blogs and websites on social media. Thoughts?
