Chris, I’m way behind on my blog reading and only now catching up to what’s been happening for you. That totally sucks! I’m glad things got sorted out. I’ve found DMCA complaints to be incredibly useful when reason doesn’t prevail.

Someone recently said to me what Jacob said to you — “you should take it as a compliment.” My response: Imitation isn’t the sincerest form of flattery. It’s the sincerest form of slackery!

I don’t know the guy, but I know the host (and honestly can’t mention anything positive about them).

I’ll check LinkedIn and see of I know anyone he know (Copenhagen is a small town) – might just get lucky. I’ll keep you posted.

Hey Chris, happens to us all the time. Contact him at the email address in the whois. Explain that you want it removed.

He probably wont reply.

Wait 24 hours.

File a DMCA takedown request with Google (It’s VERY important that you do this first as Google cannot remove something from their index that’s returning a 404).

Then, 24 hours after the takedown request has been actioned with Google, file the same DMCA takedown notice to his hosting company. DMCA takedowns are taken VERY seriously by all hosts and Google.

Do not engage with the thief after this is completed.
