Hi,
I have a couple of questions, maybe you can help me with this:
1. We have a LLC company with three partners; One of them is leaving the company so we want to know the steps to be follow.
When this person leaves, we want to change the company name. What do we need for this? Are we going to need a new license? Ho to do the change in the name?

Hi Paola:
This is really something that you need to talk to a lawyer about.
As far as the marketing goes, after you get the legal part squared away, you may want to change the “marketing” name of your company… also known as the DBA “doing business as”. This would make sense if the partner who is leaving has the company named for them, or if the name was not effective, hard to spell, etc.
It’s not too difficult to start marketing with a DBA name. Again, check with your lawyer to find out where you have to file the name. You won’t want to have the new name be too similar to any competitors.
